About Sterling College

Sterling College was founded by the Presbyterian Church and remains rooted in Christian values and beliefs. Sterling College’s mission is ” to develop creative and thoughtful leaders who understand a maturing Christian faith.” Sterling College strives to educate students the importance of servant-hood. Sterling developed the first Social Entrepreneurship undergraduate program and has a continuing partnership with Habitat for the Humanity International. Starting in their freshman year, students become involved in many service projects, mission trips, and volunteer activities as part of their curriculum. Students have traveled to Korea to teach English, volunteered on mission trips to the Amazon and rolled up their sleeves for Habitat for Humanity work projects.

Each one of the college’s 18 majors includes a service project requirement. Students learn how helping others is integral to all aspects of their future careers. Students are also required to attend weekly chapel, a spiritual formation program and a student ministries program.
